Site FAQ

Q: Site what?
A: FAQ. It stands for Frequently Asked Questions.

Q: So, what exactly is this “Captain N”?
A: Short answer; a teenager gets sucked into a world made of videogames where he‘s proclaimed as the legendary hero and he teams up with other videogame characters to fight a group of villains from different games. For more details, click just about any link on this site.

Q: So, What does the "N" stand for?
A: The Captain N special was Nuts, Nachos, and Nectarines. The letter on his jacket stands for Northridge High. It’s where he went to school. It’s his varsity swim team letter. I suppose the actual answer you’re looking for is “Nintendo.” Even though they never say this in the series, the original proposed title for the series was Captain Nintendo. For some reason they shortened it.

Q: How long did the series run?
A: The series had three seasons with the third season being much much shorter than the others. The first episode aired in September 9, 1989 and the series continued on in various incarnations until August 1993. The last original episode aired on October 26 1991. There were a total of 34 episodes with some episodes having a few slight variations.

Q: Why do the characters look so different from their videogame versions?
A: Ya got me. No clue. There have been rumors that Mega Man was colored green because the designers had the color to their TVs adjusted wrong. There’s also a rumor that Simon was based on one of the staff of the cartoon. Those are just rumors, though.

Q: So what game was Princess Lana from?
A: While some people may tell you that she was from the game Chesterfield, the truth is that she wasn’t from any game. Some people think she may have been inspired by Palutena from Kid Icarus.

Q: How old was Kevin anyway?
A: Around fifteen or sixteen, depending on who you ask and where you read the info.

Q: Did the voice actors go on to do anything else?
A: Yes. There’s an article about that in the works.

Q: Now about the site; who are the people working on it?
A: Go check the staff page.

Q: So who’re these Web and Mark that I hear about and what do they have to do with this site?
A: Webster Swenson and Mark Moore are two webmasters at the other Captain N sites. Mark is famous for his unusual viewpoints and horrible writing ability. Web’s forum is set up in a very strict manner and he runs a terrible horrible self-indulgent sprite comic. Tired of the viewpoints presented at both sites, the people here have banded together to make a site that everybody can enjoy.

Q: So you hate those guys right?
A: Whether we do or not isn’t important. We wish no real harm to either of them. We just felt the need to make a site that wasn’t dependent on any one person’s ego. Mark has even offered to help.

Q: What can I do to help?
A: Fanart and fan fiction is always welcome. If you want to do something else, go to the forum and PM Alan Bates. If there’s anything you can do, he’ll be the person to talk to.

Q: Do people really frequently ask you these questions?
A: … No… not really.

Q: Then you wouldn’t exactly call these FREQUENTLY asked questions, would you?
A: Yes I would, but I’m just crazy like that.
